Complete Hajj Packing Guide 2026: What to Bring for Your Pilgrimage

Complete Hajj Packing Guide 2026: What to Bring for Your Pilgrimage

Hajj 2026 falls on May 25–30, 2026 — and with just weeks remaining, now is the time to ensure you have everything you need for a spiritually focused, comfortable pilgrimage. Proper preparation means you can concentrate on worship rather than logistics.

This guide covers every essential item, from Ihram garments to footwear, so you arrive in Makkah fully prepared.

1. Ihram Garments (Men)

The Ihram is the most important item on your packing list. It consists of two seamless white cloths worn during the state of Ihram. Key considerations:

  • Pack at least 2 sets — one to wear, one as a backup
  • Choose a fabric that is breathable and quick-drying for the Makkah heat
  • Ensure the cloth is thick enough for modesty but light enough for comfort

Our Royal Choice Ihram for Hajj & Umrah is crafted from premium breathable fabric, ideal for the long days of pilgrimage. The Al Othaiman Ihram is another trusted choice among pilgrims.

2. Ihram Belt

An Ihram belt keeps your lower garment secure during Tawaf and Sa'i. It must be free of stitching in a way that forms a garment shape. Our Ihram Belt for Umrah and Hajj is designed to be Shariah-compliant and comfortable for extended wear.

3. Ihram Slippers / Sandals

Footwear during Ihram must expose the top of the foot (for men). You will walk several kilometres daily during Hajj, so comfort is critical.

  • Choose open-toe, flat-soled sandals
  • Ensure they are easy to slip on and off (you'll remove them frequently)
  • Bring a spare pair

4. Prayer Essentials

  • Prayer beads (Misbaha / Tasbih)
  • Small prayer rug (lightweight, foldable)
  • Pocket-sized Quran or Dua book
  • Prayer cap (Kufi) — for use outside of Ihram state

5. Personal Care & Health

  • Unscented soap, shampoo, and deodorant (fragrance is prohibited in Ihram)
  • Sunscreen (unscented)
  • Lip balm (unscented)
  • Blister plasters and foot cream (essential for walking)
  • Personal medications with doctor's letter
  • Oral rehydration salts and electrolyte sachets
  • Hand sanitiser
  • Face mask (recommended for crowded areas)

6. Clothing (Outside Ihram State)

  • Lightweight, modest clothing for travel days and non-Ihram periods
  • Comfortable walking shoes for non-Ihram days
  • Light jacket or shawl for air-conditioned spaces

7. Documents & Money

  • Passport and Hajj visa
  • Travel insurance documents
  • Emergency contact list (printed copy)
  • Saudi Riyals and a travel card
  • Identification wristband (many groups provide these)

8. Travel Accessories

  • Small backpack or waist pouch (for Tawaf and Sa'i)
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Portable phone charger / power bank
  • Universal travel adapter
  • Lightweight umbrella or sun hat (for non-Ihram use)
  • Ziplock bags for organising small items
